AKS’s Division of the Understanding Korea Project in the Center for International Affairs invited education experts from India’s National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) to hold a workshop on educational cooperation between the two countries from September 16 (Monday) through September 20 (Friday), 2019.

AKS and NCERT have held education cooperation workshops since signing an MOU in 2017. These workshops promote exchange and cooperation in the areas of “textbooks and curriculum,” “vocational education,” “special education,” “ICT education,” and “physical education.”

As part of the cooperative project on “textbooks and curriculum,” the two organizations plan to jointly publish a textbook on the topic of “Korean and Indian Democracy.” During this workshop, the education experts discussed how to organize the textbook so that students can easily understand the development of democracy in both countries.

This workshop helped further solidify the foundation of educational cooperation between both countries. We will continue to work on the production of the collaborative textbook and to discuss other forms of educational cooperation to provide an example of educational cooperation.
