South Korea in my heart

Today, as I write this piece and remember all the time I spent in Korea, only wonderful and unforgettable moments come to mind. Knowing its people, culture, and history made me admire even more a country that I knew very little and which I have many more to know about.

It was not easy getting here with the long flight and waiting time, but I was very eager to be here and to see a country that was able to overcome difficult times. My visit to the World Heritage Site, Temporary Palace at Hwaseong Fortress, was wonderful. Seeing the palace and learning about its history made for a truly unique experience.

It was time for me to attend the seminar and the conference held by top professionals. I am forever grateful to the following for sharing their knowledge: Sahun Kim, Heonmok Jung, Chongmyong Im, Woopyeong Lee, Hyejung Park and Wonsuk Chang. It was a privilege to listen to the wise words of the Academy of Korean Studies President, Byungook Ahn.

Visiting the historic areas of Gyeongju -- places of unique beauty and true treasures of humanity -- was simply incredible. Busan, unforgettable Busan! A beautiful maritime city with excellent sea views -- I loved it! I cannot forget Seoul, a great city with unique architecture combining ancestral and avant-garde cultures. I admired Gyeongbokgung Palace.

Finally, I want to thank the Academy of Korean Studies, the Korean Embassy in Paraguay, and the company where I work, Grupo Editorial Atlas, for allowing me to have such experience and share it with you. I would also like to thank my dear colleagues, Teresa, Roxana, Raquel, and Carlos, for the time we have shared together. I hope to come back soon.
