I would like to thank the Academy of Korean Studies, through the Korean Embassy in Paraguay, for allowing me to participate in this unique experience of getting to know a country as far away as South Korea. Before this textbook seminar, I knew very little about Korean culture, history, and geography. Thus, when I found out about this textbook seminar, I started reading materials on these topics. Of course, actually being in Korea changed my perspective: it is one thing to know about a distant country and another thing to go there and experience firsthand its culture, history, and heritage.

The organization of the entire textbook seminar was perfect; we were welcomed by researche Hyejung Park and interpreter Eunjung Lee, and the reception was consistently phenomenal. Such allowed us to know and understand better all the places where we went; it goes without saying that the reception at the Academy of Korean Studies was excellent and friendly. They were very meticulous, from accommodations to field trips to different places.

The seminar and lecture on the educational system, culture, geography, and history of Korea were very interesting; they allowed me to understand many things, especially about the territorial disputes with Japan over Dokdo island and sea. For us who are on the other side of the world, such information is usually not available, and news about Asia is very scarce.

Field trips to Korea's historical and natural heritage also allowed me to see the ancient culture of Korea; from my point of view as a historian and anthropologist, it was a pleasure to visit those places. I learned so many new things and saw how a country could progress so quickly after such a great fratricidal war without neglecting its history and culture.

We hope to continue building ties with Korea so that both Paraguayans and Koreans can be aware of each other's country through the realization of future projects.
